The Drifter 5.5 by J. Corwin Lures is remembered as our first design to go from concept to production. Crafted and tested as a soft plastic fishing lure with a subtle action, slender profile, and hinged chunk appendage. The Drifter 5.5 entices bass by "gliding" through and around thick cover with ease, moving naturally upon retrieval.

Intentionally multifunctional, anglers can trim it down for use as a jig trailer, invert it sideways on your favorite chatter bait, or leave it whole and guide it through heavy structure, enticing tired bass to strike. See a variety of recommended rigging applications listed below.

An assortment of weights will produce slightly different actions, allowing you to use the lure for a variety of purposes targeting bass shallow or deep. The lighter the weight, a more natural glide and side-to-side movement will be present. The heavier the weight, the faster the Drifter 5.5 will flee, dart, and dive, igniting a reaction strike. When rigged weightless, anglers are able to impart action on the lure, sending it side-to-side by twitching and jerking the lure subsurface, much like a soft-bodied jerkbait.
