The Mongrel 3.5 by J. Corwin Lures is our second design to go from concept to production. This bait, like the Drifter, was designed and tested as a finesse soft plastic fishing lure with a subtle, natural flowing action that demands attention subsurface, teasing bass with its compact yet beefy 3.5" frame.

The Mongrel was designed from top to bottom to emphasize its silhouette and profile underwater. The lure has a small but thick, segmented body, as well as tapered stylized appendages for added feel and realism. Anglers can employ the Mongrel 3.5 in a variety of techniques, making it an extremely versatile multifunctional lure.

During development, we found that presenting the Mongrel 3.5 on a finesse stand-up shaky head was the most effective method; however, it also excelled as a reliable: jig trailer, swim jig trailer, chatter bait trailer, flipping bait, wobble head bait, and many more.
